I call it Artificial Calculus.

Hello everyone!
I am Japanese dental hygienist, naomi.

Dental plaque can give rise to periodontal problems such as gingivitis and chronic periodontitis. It starts to harden within 48 hours; in about 10 days the plaque becomes dental calculus rock-hard and difficult to remove.

Professional teeth cleaning is very important. We remove dental calculus.

This is a incisor tooth upper jaw.Look at the margin of a right side teeth! There are swelling and bleeding on gums.

why?

Because, dental cement is placed in the middle of the gingival sulcus.

Open gums.

I removed dental cement with a dental microscope.

I can see the borderline of epithelial attachment and connective tissue attachment.
This cement cannot be completely taken without a dental microscope.

A dental microscope will change the dental hygienist's work.
